After numerous band names and transient bass players, Happy Idiot released their second EP since their formation in 2001. Clutch At The Branch, a 5 song analog recording, is a culmination of experimentation from live electric and acoustic shows, and incorporates their respective backgrounds in punk, jazz, blues, and old-school country/bluegrass. They played a successful CD release at Cafe Van Kleef in Oakland, and were interviewed and performed live acoustic on FCCFree radio. Happy Idiot is Luis Valentino (guitar, lead vocals), Scott Barnes (drums) and Alan Stonebraker (bass, keyboard). While their sound can harken back to styles past, Happy Idiot evokes the future with both feet directly in the present. See them live and experience a spontaneous sonic sting of raw energy.
